We use mostly natural paving materials such as sandstone, limestone and slate, alongside quality frost proof brick pavers and natural effect pavers. We also use recycled bricks for paths and paved areas and mix recycled brick and sandstone for a rustic effect.
As with most of our work we tend to mix paving with other surfaces such as aggregates and planting within the garden design. This breaks up the garden and allows for contrast between materials and plants, it also reduces the cost of installation as paving is expensive. We use cut vertical sleepers as detailing or to allow for small changes in level within the garden, cut sleepers look great with a natural stone or as a detail within gravel planting. We have also installed paving with a narrow deck edging to allow for drainage and airflow around exterior walls where the damp proof level is an issue.
