Decking has come in for a bit of a hard time of late but we still rate decking just
as long as it is fit for purpose and well designed. We avoid exotic hardwoods but will
happily use Oak, pine or western red cedar. We often mix decking in with other materials
and planting. Decking is also useful where there are damp course issues and where raised
seating / access is required.
We have also become pretty handy with sleepers, especially when it comes to making low
retaining walls and steps. We usually use aged reclaimed sleepers but are happy using new
sleepers if the customer can afford them!
